Who is this for?
This course is beneficial to staff working in or managing a biological sciences laboratory. This includes lab technicians, lab managers, health and safety advisors and biological safety officers who are new to the role. Staff who are involved in the creation and review of biological risk assessments will also benefit.
Learning aims
By the end of this course you should have an understanding of: the importance of biosafety, the UK legal framework for biosafety (including requirements of COSHH and Genetic modification), containment levels and control measures, and the other considerations for applying additional controls. Each learner will have the opportunity to book a free 20-minute virtual session with a biosafety professional. You will be able to ask questions relating to the course and relating to your biosafety work responsibilties.
